Mary Ellen Callahan served as Chief Privacy Officer for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (2009-2012). Currently, as Chair of Jennar & Block's Privacy and Information Governance Practice, she advises clients on maintaining privacy protection while addressing cybersecurity and national security issues. Ms. Callahan is the recipient of the highest award in the privacy industry, the 2013 Privacy Vanguard Award, given by the International Association of Privacy Professionals and was recently named by Washingtonian Magazine as a Best Lawyer in the field of National Security. A former Truman Scholar, she serves as a Trustee on the University of Pittsburgh's Board of Trustees.
